My model does not have the red safety button which many others have been troubleshooting. After about a month and a half of applying the fix, I have not had any issues. I hope this helps. Ryobi lawnmower shuts off fix. Stuck with a brand new lawn mower that won’t start. I show how to fix intermittent shutting off issue with Ryobi 40v cordless lawnmower. I just used a T30 torx bit and tightened both handle’s at the base. The screws become loose and prevent the handle bar from pushing in on/off safety switch.
